How to Choose the Real Estate Tech that Helps Not Hurts
Best Fit Tech? Your 3 Main Decision Making Factors
There are 3 Main Decision Making Factors when it comes to choosing a real estate lead generation and management solution: Lead Quality, Training and Adaptability. Though varied, these factors can pinpoint whether your tech will help or hurt your business. We recently spoke with Kevin Kaplan, Vice President of Marketing and Technology at Long Realty, about his own decision making process when he was searching for the right system for his iTeam at Long Realty – Tucson, AZ.
1. Higher Quality Leads
Your agents are already striving to make connections. So your software shouldn’t impede their lead capture process through a bad user experience for clients or agents. Kaplan recognized this right off the bat and went with the software which helps garner higher quality leads from the get-go. These leads are achieved through a higher-end user experience on their website and gathering the right client information.
“One of the things that was important to us was the quality of the leads that are being generated through the system. We’ve learned over the years that when we can get a phone number we have a much better shot at creating a relationship with that consumer and being able to turn that into a piece of business,” Kaplan said.
2. Intuitive Training and Support
New shiny software is nothing without agents who want to learn and a software company who will make sure every step of the adoption and adaption processes go off without a hitch. Kaplan knew his iTeam was tech savvy, but the savviest of teams can’t avoid random hiccups along the way. Your real estate technology should be able to roll with the punches and support your questions, concerns, and advise on strategy when need be. In other words, your choice software should be a “business solution” in Kaplan’s words, not just “a technology company providing software.”
It is no secret the market is flooded with real estate tech solutions. Branded websites, CRMs, lead generation software, and social media planners. The list is endless. However, the easiest route to choosing your real estate technology solution is oftentimes the simplest one. Through picking the technology that tailors itself to your company and adapts with the industry, you avoid hurting your business in the long run.
“What are they really trying to accomplish? What’s their culture? How much do they dedicate to innovation? Because the one thing I can tell you about technology is it doesn’t stay the same. And you may be looking at a solution now, but in six months or a year from now what consumers want may change and you’ve got to align yourself with a good partner,” Kaplan said.
