There has been some buzz (particularly in our BoomTown Owners' Community) about Zopim Live Chat, and whether it adds any value to a website and lead generation. I’m here to give you the quick breakdown on all things Zopim. No fluff, just the highlights here. I’ve handled the research on your behalf and hope that you find it helpful. Enjoy!
For those who may be unfamiliar, Zopim is a live chat (IM) integration system that allows you to chat with users at the exact moment they are visiting your website.
On the back end, Zopim gives you great information about your visitors, such as:
- Number of past visits
- Time spent on the site
- What pages they have navigated
- What browser they are using
- User’s location
(Hey BoomTown users, Zopim contacts can be auto-linked with your BoomTown contact database, so you can see if those users are new visitors, existing visitors already in your BoomTown system, or already assigned to an agent.)
Their IM integration allows you to access chat on your platform of choice (Google Talk, Yahoo IM, MSN, AIM). Zopim even has a mobile app for you to chat with visitors through text while you’re on the go.
Here’s a link to the Zopim pricing page. There is a free package with limited features, and 2 other paid packages with a wider range of features. Prices vary per plan, and if you pay monthly or on a one year or three year contract.
What Are Our BoomTown Clients Saying?
Some said they only get a few chats per day, but those who knew how to make the most of Zopim’s features were met with great success. One user shared that the real power is in the triggers. Another shared that their ISAs were able to really leverage the user activity to their advantage. Live chat has potential to be a great tool that your ISAs can use to connect and build trust with the visitor if they are not yet ready to commit and provide you with their contact information.
So Should I Use It?
Zopim offers a completely free 14-day trial, which includes all the features and allows you to create as many agents as you want. If you choose not to upgrade by the end of the trial, you will be automatically downgraded to the free Lite version.
With the success that it has brought to several agents, and the convenient free trial and package, I’d say it wouldn’t hurt to give it a try. The Lite package has no cost, but has great potential to add great value to your lead generation efforts.
At the end of the free trial, or after using the free version for some time, you may find it worthwhile to invest in the paid versions.
